He made his début at Covent Garden in 2009 as Tristan in Tristan und Isolde replacing an indisposed Ben Heppner and subsequently also sang at Bayreuther Festspiele during 2011.
In 1895, Scaleri went to London to study and assist violinist August Wilhelmj (concert master of the world premiere of Wagner's Ring of the Nibelungs in Bayreuth).
His recordings include: the role of Orest in Elektra (Berlin Staatskapelle Orchestra and Chorus, conducted by Daniel Barenboim); Kurwenal in Tristan und Isolde (Bayreuther Festspiele 1995, conducted by Daniel Barenboim, filmed); Amfortas in Parsifal (Vienna State Opera Orchestra and Chorus, conducted by Christian Thielemann) and the Dutchman in The Flying Dutchman (Berlin Staatskapelle Orchestra and Chorus, conducted by Daniel Barenboim).
