In 1975, he became president of the Soviet Association of Political Sciences (until 1991), and vice-president of the International Political Science Association (until 1988).
Sindjoun has been a member of the Executive Committee of International Political Science Association (IPSA) since 2003, and he was the President of African Association of Political Science from 2001 to 2003.
He chaired the Research Committee on Political Elites of the International Political Science Association (IPSA) and the Research Committee on Comparative Sociology of the International Sociological Association (ISA).
