The elc community has taken part in the 2007 Relay for Life Walk-athon, Cancer Awareness Week, 30 Hour Famine, Reading Week, the Terry Fox Run and many other events.
Calhoun was the National Co-ordinator for the Terry Fox Marathon of Hope, working with Fox to organize the original run in 1980.
The song "Never Give Up on a Dream" was dedicated to Canadian athlete Terry Fox, who ran 3,339 miles with one prosthetic leg in the Marathon of Hope to raise money for cancer research.
