He also unearthed two previously unknown pieces by Ludwig van Beethoven: the Sonata for Violoncello and Piano, Opus 64, and the Kreutzer Sonata, transcribed for cello by Czerny.
A MS.341/3 and a MS.342 are in the Amicale Jean-Baptiste Salis collection at Czerny, though neither is on public display; one is being restored.

In 2002, Kuerti directed The Czerny Music Festival in Edmonton, to draw attention to the work of Austrian composer Carl Czerny (1791-1857).
