After 13 years in the NHL, Lepine finally played a year in the minors with the New Haven Eagles of the AHL in 1938–39.
Chouinard played failed to score a point in eight NHL games, but he did go on to play eight more years of professional hockey with New Haven Eagles (1928–31 and 1933–34), Bronx Tigers (1931–32), Riviere-du-Loup Lancers and Quebec Castors (1932–33), Tulsa Oilers and London Tecumsehs (1934–36), and Perth Crescents (1937–38).
The Rangers named Patrick the head coach of their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the New Haven Ramblers for the 1946–47 season.
Two subsequent franchises playing the AHL were based in New Haven; the New Haven Nighthawks (1972–1992), who were renamed the New Haven Senators (1992–93), Beast of New Haven (1997–1999), and most recently the UHL's New Haven Knights (2000–2002).
